I Flopped the Nuts, Now What?

Many times you sit a poker table never getting any good hands for half the day making no real money. Often times many will envision winning with the nuts. You visualize how amazing it would be to win with the nuts. The fact of the matter remains that it required not only the nuts, but skill to win time and time again.

No matter what your cards are, nuts or no nuts; your job is to get as much money as possible from your opponents. There is not any one strategy to use when you flop the nuts. Some may tell you that it would be wise to just simply check when you have the nuts. I mean, why not? You have the best hand anyways so you cannot get ran down, plus you do not want any of the other players to know that you are strong, right? Wrong!

While it is true that this may be the right approach at certain times, it is not always the right thing to do. There could be times where you might want to go all in right there or make a big bet. It all depends on your opponents and the situation that is going on in the game.

Your mind always goes with the positive visualization of how great your hand is when you have the nuts. The hand can still be vulnerable even if you have the nuts. If you believe to have a marginal hand its in your best interest to protect it.

What a great position to be in when yo know you cant loose. Positioning your hand in your best interest is the best move at this point. Checking this powerful hand is often time a great way to extract more chips from other players that believe they are strong.

Each strategy at this point depends on your other poker players. If you have an aggressive style you don’t want to check right? Your competition will expect you to bet. They will know something is not right if you make a move out of your normal style of play. They will also have a huge effect on how you perceive how to play the hand. If you are playing against a players that always bets, let them. Check and let them bet again and again. Set the trap and allow they to flow your lead. If anything goes wrong, switch up your betting style to get as much as you can no matter what.

The last thing that plays a big role in your decision is the amount of people that are in the hand. If there are a few people in the hand, you should be able to let them take the action over. Keep them around so they can better there hands, and still lose to you.

Unless there is a drawing hand that will be better then yours if hit; there is no sense in scaring them all away. Flopping the nuts is a wonderful thing, but it hurts when no money is made off of it.
